The Superintendent is in full support of a new campaign started by the Dearborn Police called Lock It or Lose It.  This is a community wide effort to decrease the theft of items left in cars in our city and it is really pretty simple…keep your doors locked and keep valuable out of your car.

Iris Becker Elementary is pleased to welcome Mrs. Rima Hassan as the new principal! Mrs. Hassan was announced at the June 22nd School Board meeting.  She will work directly with Mr. Higgins to ensure a seamless transition for students, staff and parents. The Iris Becker Library will be open this summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 22nd-August 21st from 1:00-4:00.  Students can check-out books, read at the library, access the computer lab, and more!  The library will be staffed by Ms. Evelyn Smith. See you at the Library!

At Becker Elementary School, students have opened nearly 7,000 myON books, online books available for district students at myon.com.  Our Becker students are reading a lot of books.  The third grade students have read the most myON books.  Great job, third grade!  The fourth grade students are in second place–but not far behind third grade. …
