Becker Elementary was built in 1993 on 3.5 acres. With the bond, Becker students would be added into the new Lowrey School, a preschool through eighth grade building to be constructed on the current Lowrey School grounds. See the one-page flyer regarding Lowrey School.
The Becker School building would be kept to be used for swing space, meaning students from other schools would temporarily be moved here while their regular school is being remodeled under the bond. Once the bond is complete, Becker would be available to house other district programs.

Construct a new Lowrey School that would also take in the students from Becker Elementary. Expected cost – $120,536,500
The new preschool through eighth grade facility would include:
- New educational spaces including general and special education
- Art/music/STEAM/exploratory career labs
- Separate gyms for elementary and middle school students and a gymnatorium shared by all grades
- Separate cafeterias for elementary and middle school students
- Pool with ADA ramp
- Age-appropriate and accessible playgrounds
- New turf field and a walking track
- Separate bus loop/drop-off
- Expanded parking
- Secured vestibule/reception area
- Student support spaces
About PK-8 schools
Creating preschool through eighth grade buildings will allow students and families to form strong bonds while remaining in their neighborhood school for much longer. Elementary and middle school students would be separated for classes, meals, recess, lineup, and dismissal, but all students could use special spaces like STEM labs, music rooms, and gymnasium-auditoriums. An ADA accessible pool would also be included and a turf athletic field.
Students and families would benefit from staying in the same neighborhood school for up to 10 years – from free GSRP preschool through eighth grade.
